Destination: Butchart Gardens
The Butchart Gardens is located on Vancouver Island, 23 km (14 miles) north of Victoria, and 20 km (12.5 miles) south of the Vancouver-Victoria ferry terminal at Swartz Bay.

The Butchart Gardens has been designed to please the eye and generally delight the senses. It could be the pale green of emerging leaves in spring, complemented by brilliant pink or white flowers of trees; the dazzling bedding plants framed in by sweeping lawns, with the treat to the nose of a waft of a
thousand scents of summer; the russets and gold's of fall leaves encouraged by the more crisp air of fall and enhanced by the shifting color of sunlight; or the pleasures of the Magic of Christmas where the background shrubs and trees of summer stand more prominently, adding solemn dignity to the gaiety of Christmas lights and decorations, the Twelve Days of Christmas displays, and the happy sounds of ice skaters. From March 21st -to June 14th, the spectacular spring bursts forth in a show of unparalleled beauty. One of the finest displays in the world heralds the season with hundreds of thousands of bulbs in bloom, joined by a host of flowering trees and shrubs. The gardens are alive with the colors and scents of spring.
From June 15th to September 30th, magnificent views of our gardens can be enjoyed during any season, but summer at The Gardens is breathtaking. Ravishing floral splendor greets you at every turn.

From October 1st to November 30th, glory in the crowning beauty of Autumn when the Japanese Garden comes to center stage. A stunning parade of red, russet and golden maples is joined by magnificent arbutus and copper beech trees along with dozens of varieties of chrysanthemums.
